Vinyl Siding Installation in Milwaukee

New siding that transforms how your house looks and, more importantly, keeps water out of the walls behind it.

Siding does two jobs. It’s the first thing anyone sees when they look at your house, and it’s the barrier keeping wind-driven rain out of your wall cavity. Most siding jobs are sold on the first and fail on the second.

We install vinyl siding across the Milwaukee metro, on everything from bungalows to duplexes to newer builds. The visible part is straightforward. What matters is the moisture barrier behind it and the flashing detail where the siding meets windows, doors and the roofline.

What a Siding Replacement Includes

Tear-off and inspection

Old siding comes off and we look at the sheathing underneath. Rot, water staining and pest damage all hide behind siding, and it is far cheaper to deal with while the wall is open.

House wrap and moisture barrier

A weather-resistive barrier over the sheathing, lapped correctly so water runs down and out rather than sideways and in. This is the layer that actually protects your walls.

Window and door flashing

Head flashing above openings and correct integration with the house wrap. Water gets into more walls around windows than through any other route.

Vinyl siding installation

Panels hung with the correct expansion allowance — vinyl moves considerably between a Milwaukee January and a Milwaukee July, and siding nailed too tight buckles.

Insulated siding option

Contoured foam backing that adds R-value, stiffens the panel against wind, and improves impact resistance. Worth discussing given local winters.

Trim, soffit and fascia

Corner posts, J-channel, window and door surrounds, and soffit and fascia work where needed to finish the job properly.

Colour and profile selection

We'll bring samples out so you can see the colours against your roof and trim in daylight rather than choosing from a brochure.

Siding That Survives Wisconsin

Siding in this region deals with a temperature range of well over a hundred degrees between February and August. Vinyl expands and contracts across that range, and installation has to allow for it — panels hung too tightly will buckle and wave within a couple of seasons. It’s one of the most common defects we see on siding installed by crews who work in milder climates.

Then there’s the wind off Lake Michigan, which drives rain horizontally against the wall rather than letting it run down. Horizontal rain finds any gap in the flashing around a window. And the freeze-thaw cycle means any moisture that does get into the sheathing expands as it freezes, working joints apart a little more each winter.

None of this is exotic — it just requires the underlying work to be done properly rather than covered up quickly. Which is what we do.

A five-year workmanship warranty on top of the manufacturer's shingle coverage, which runs 25 to 30 years depending on the product. We stand behind what we install.

We handle the paperwork

Storm damage claim? We document the damage and work alongside your insurance adjuster. Financing available if you'd rather spread the cost.

One contractor, whole exterior

Roofs, siding and gutters — residential and commercial. One team that understands how the whole exterior works together, not three crews blaming each other when water gets in.

FAQ

How much does vinyl siding cost in Milwaukee?

It depends on the square footage of wall, how many windows and corners there are, whether any sheathing needs replacing, and which product line you choose. A two-storey house with a lot of openings costs more per square foot than a simple ranch. We measure and give you a written number.

How long does a siding job take?

Most houses take a few days to a week depending on size and how much repair work is needed behind the old siding.

Is insulated siding worth the extra cost?

It adds some R-value, but the bigger practical benefits are rigidity and impact resistance — it holds its shape better and dents less. Whether it’s worth it depends on your wall construction and budget. We’ll give you a straight answer for your house.

Can you install siding over the existing siding?

It’s possible but we don’t recommend it. You can’t inspect or repair what’s underneath, you can’t install a proper moisture barrier, and you’re covering up any problem rather than fixing it.

Will the colour fade?

Modern vinyl holds colour far better than older products, and most carry a manufacturer warranty against excessive fading. Darker colours fade marginally faster than lighter ones on south-facing walls.

Do you replace gutters at the same time?

Often, yes — it’s efficient to do both while the crew and equipment are already there, and it means the fascia, soffit and gutter line all get finished together. See our aluminum gutters page.
